"We agreed with the organizers to proclaim June 17 Russia's Day," Mr. Strashko said. On this day the Russian flag will be raised at the exposition and a wide cultural program will be presented with 360 Russian artists participating.
The Days of the Sakha-Yakutia Republic will be held in late March - early April. This region will present its achievements and cultural program.
Moscow, St. Petersburg, the Moscow region, the Krasnodar territory, the Yamal-Nenets autonomous area and other constituent entities of the Russian Federation claimed their participation in EXPO-2005.
"Noosphere harmony will be the motto of the Russian exposition. It is based on academician Vernadsky theory of noosphere as the new habitat of mankind," Vladimir Strashko said.
The project of the noosphere house of the future will be the highlight of the Russian exposition, he noted.
Academician of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences Valerian Sobolev presented the project of the house of the future and a noosphere settlement to journalists.
Such houses are resistant to earthquakes measuring 9 on the Richter scale, to wind speed of 60 meters per second and temperature of 50 degrees below zero, the scientist said. Moreover, they will emerge in case of floods due to special materials on the ground floor.
An autonomous solar generator can provide a noosphere settlement comprising 30 cottages with electric energy.
The scientists also invented robot agricultural equipment, which can farm the land all by itself, academician Sobolev said.
