RUSSIAN ARMED FORCES CHIEF OF STAFF HAS DEPARTED FOR BRUSSELS TO MEET WITH NATO MILITARY LEADERSHIP

MOSCOW, November 14 (RIA Novosti) Russian Armed Forces Chief of Staff Yuri Baluyevsky has departed for Brussels to meet with NATO military leadership to discuss the cooperation between NATO and Russian armed forces, a spokesman for the Defense Ministry told RIA Novosti.

"On Sunday Russian Armed Forces Chief of Staff Yuri Baluyevsky has departed for Brussels to meet with NATO military leadership on November 16 within the framework of the chief-of-staff level of the Russia-NATO Council," the spokesman said.

He said the talks would touch upon cooperation between NATO and Russian armed forces, countering international terrorism, and coordination of the action of Russian warships as part of the NATO-led Active Endeavor Eastern Mediterranean nonproliferation effort.

"Baluyevsky is going to meet with some of his NATO counterparts," the spokesman for the Defense Ministry said.
