MOSCOW, November 16 (RIA Novosti) - The Faith and Word first international festival of Orthodox media, which opened in the Cathedral of Christ the Savior in Moscow (November 16-18) will help the Roman-Catholic Church understand Orthodox brothers and improve relations between the two churches, Bishop Renato Boccardo, chairman of the pontifical council for mass media, said in a RIA Novosti interview on Tuesday.
The representative of Vatican is taking part in the festival. He greeted the festival's organizers and participants on behalf of the Pope.
Above all, I consider this festival very important and educational. It gives us an opportunity to learn more about our Orthodox brothers," the Bishop said.
"The more we know about each other the better we understand each other. This promotes mutual understanding," he noted.
In his opinion, the festival will improve Orthodox-Catholic relations.
