Industrial production, adjusted for the work time available in the first ten months of 2004, increased by 6.1%, compared with the same period of 2003, and in October 2004 by 6.6%, in comparison with October 2003. Industrial production in October rose 1.1% month-on-month in overall volume and 0.4% when adjusted for the work time available.
The report also gives data on industrial output growth last year. Thus, in the first 10 months of 2003, and in October of 2003, these figures, compared with 2002, increased by 6.8% and 7.2% overall and by as much when adjusted.
The growth in production for the first ten months of 2004 was led by the glass and porcelain and faience industry (16.7%) and closed by electric power generation (0.3%). Output in engineering and metal working rose by 12%, in the fuel industry 7.5%, chemicals 7.5%, building materials industry 5.5%, and in ferrous and non-ferrous metallurgy by 5.3% and 3.6%, respectively.
The food industry increased its output by 3.8%, timber and wood working industry by 2.9%, and printing industry by 2.2%. In the flour and groats, medical and microbiological industries output dropped - by 3.1%, 5.5% and 6.7%, respectively.
