MOSCOW, November 19. (RIA Novosti) - 61% of Russians believe the information on the Beslan tragedy provided by the authorities, which is a fairly high figure. However, almost half of the respondents, 48%, think that this information is only partially true. 36% do not believe official information at all.

These are the results of a survey seeking to find out how Russians assess the outlook of the parliamentary commission's work and the preliminary results of investigation in Beslan.

People with higher education are more positive, 68% of them believe the authorities. Respondents with primary or secondary education are more inclined to suspect that the authorities "conceal the truth" or even "lie and are elusive".

Only 35% of respondents think that the parliamentary commission will be able to find out all the circumstances and the responsible for the terrorist attack. The share of those who believe that it will manage to get this information through to citizens is even smaller, 21%.

On the whole, most Russians do not view parliamentary investigation as the best way to find out the truth about Beslan. Only 35% said that the parliament should have the right to conduct their own investigation, while 20% intend to form their opinion after they receive information about the result of its work. Another 30% believe that investigations must be carried out by professionals, and 15% could not answer.

The survey of 1,600 respondents was carried out by the All-Russian Public Opinion Center, VTsIOM, at the end of October.
