VLADIKAVKAZ, November 19 (RIA Novosti) - Thursday media reports on detaining in Chechnya two accomplices of terrorists who seized the Beslan school are unconfirmed, head of the parliamentary Beslan commission Alexander Torshin has said.

"We were in Chechnya at that time and had an opportunity to put this question to bodies of the prosecutor's office. The answer was there was no detainment", Torshin told reporters.

Eleven bodies of Beslan terrorists are still unidentified, he said.

According to law-enforcers, 32 militants participated in the Beslan act of terrorism, 31 have been destroyed, one taken prisoner.

Torshin also said that 1.5 months before Beslan the army had a mopping-up operation near the militants-infested village of Psedakh on the border between Ingushetia and Chechnya (both border on North Ossetia, on whose territory the terrorist acts was committed).

At that time, a cache was found containing 111 small arms, he said.

Torshin also pointed to poor work organisation in the Ingush law-enforcement agencies. "We've inspected work of district police officers. It is a sad sight. There's nobody to do work: some are sick, others removed and still others are sent to reinforce posts. There are 11,000 people per officer", he said.

According to Torshin, in Moscow his commission will raise the question of strengthening the law-enforcement agencies of Ingushetia.
