MOSCOW, November 26 (RIA Novosti) - According to a representative opinion poll of 1600 Russians that Yury Levada's Analytical Centre conducted on November 19-22, 66% of respondents voiced their attitude to Ukraine as "good", 13% as "very good" and 17% as "negative".
Asked whether they considered Ukraine a foreign country, 68% of the respondents answered in the negative, 28% in the affirmative and 4% did not know what to say.
50 % of the participants watch the development of affairs in Ukraine with no particular interest, while 21% are focused on the events, with 20% ignoring them.
Russians give preference to Viktor Yunukovich (34%) as a candidate meeting Russian interests, Viktor Yushchenko supported only by 7%. Forty-eight per cent of the surveyed failed to answer.
