Moscow saw differences in the text of the joint statement for the press following the Russia-EU summit in The Hague, Mr. Yakovenko noted.
"We paid attention to the fact that the text of the joint statement for the press published on the website of the Netherlands' EU Presidency (www.2004eu.nl) is not exact and does not comply with the agreements achieved by Russian President Vladimir Putin, Prime Minister of the Netherlands Jan Peter Balkenende and President of the European Commission Jose Barroso," the spokesman stressed.
There are differences in the last sentence of the joint statement, he specified.
"We demanded the Netherlands to explain this fact. Much attention is given to elimination of such differences in diplomatic practice," Alexander Yakovenko emphasized.
The text coordinated with the Dutch government and European Commission is published on the official website of the Russian President (www.kremlin.ru).
The coordinated text says that Russia and the European Union "discussed a wide range of international issues". The document published by the European Union adds that the sides "also exchanged positions on the current situation in Ukraine".
