KIEV, November 27 (RIA Novosti) - Participants in the rally in Donetsk adopted a resolution to hold a referendum on the autonomy of the Donetsk region (Donbass), Novosti-Ukraine agency reports.

"As a as result of the neglect of the election outcome and the Central Election Commission's decision and illegal actions by the Yushchenko-led opposition, our state is on the brink of a civil war," the resolution reads.

In this connection, the participants in the rally called on the Donetsk regional council to make an immediate decision and hold a referendum on the Donbass autonomy if a coup in Ukraine becomes real.

According to organizers, about 200,000 people took part in the rally.

On November 28 Severodonetsk (Lugansk region) will host an extraordinary congress of the Party of Regions, which can make a decision on the creation of a federation, head of the Donetsk region Anatoly Bliznyuk said.

"We invited everyone and the majority will come. I mean these 15 million who said that Viktor Yanukovich is our President. Therefore not one region but Southeastern Ukraine on the whole will vote for the federation," Mr. Bliznyuk said.

"We do not call for the split of Ukraine. We say that we are a federation and need a legislative assembly to make decisions ourselves and implement them here," he added.
