In particular, if the elections in Ukraine are invalidated, Viktor Yanukovich will be ready to rerun the poll in the Donetsk and Lugansk regions or to hold new elections without Mr. Yushchenko and himself.
If the elections are not invalidated, Mr. Yanukovich proposes introducing amendments to the Ukrainian Constitution and suggests that Viktor Yushchenko become Prime Minister.
According to Mr. Yanukovich, if the Ukrainian Supreme Court invalidates the elections in the Donetsk and Lugansk regions, his team will ask the court to consider the complaints concerning the western regions.
"My election campaign was honest and if there are such proofs [that the elections in the Donetsk and Lugansk regions were flawed] and if they are acknowledged by the court, we shall ask to consider our complaints concerning the western regions [where Mr. Yushchenko won the majority of votes]," Viktor Yanukovich said.
However, if the repeat vote is appointed by the law, Mr. Yanukovich is ready to ask residents of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions to vote on any day that will be fixed.
The second issue to be discussed with Viktor Yushchenko is the following: if the elections are proved to be flawed, the new poll should be held without the participation of both rival candidates. "I offer to hold a new poll in Ukraine and I officially propose that neither Viktor Yanukovich nor I will run the new elections," the Ukrainian Prime Minister said.
"If these elections split our country, society and state and lead to the development of separatism, I am ready not to run for the new elections if Yushchenko does the same," Mr. Yanukovich stressed.
In his words, there are many prominent politicians in Ukraine, for instance Communist leader Pyotr Simonenko, head of the Socialist Party Alexander Moroz and chairperson of the Progressive Socialist Party Natalia Vitrenko, and others. "Let people choose between them," the presidential candidate added.
If the poll is not invalidated, Viktor Yanukovich is ready to cooperate with Viktor Yushchenko's team and other political forces (Communists, Socialists, etc.) to consider and prepare civilized and most democratic amendments to the Ukrainian Constitution.
"I am ready to offer Mr. Yushchenko the post of Prime Minister. Under the new constitution, he will be the first person in our state," Mr. Yanukovich stressed. Moreover, we shall have to form the government together with the parliamentary coalition, he added.
Meanwhile, Viktor Yanukovich denied any ultimatums.
He demanded that the opposition immediately unblock the work of the government. Otherwise, out state and economy will suffer and it will be the fault of those who launched the anti-constitutional process today, he emphasized.
