KIEV, December 4 (RIA Novosti) - On Saturday the Ukrainian Central Election Commission has appointed the rerun of the presidential elections for December 26.

Accordingly, the Central Election Commission has fulfilled yesterday's decision of the Ukrainian Supreme Court, which invalidated the results of the election runoff and ordered to rerun the poll.

In compliance with the Ukrainian electoral legislation, the presidential campaign of the two candidates in mass media will start on Sunday.

Viktor Yushchenko and Viktor Yanukovich, who won the greatest number of votes in the first round of the poll on October 31, will run for presidency.

However, the Ukrainian Supreme Rada passed a vote of no confidence in the country's Central Election Commission. The immediate dismissal of its members is one of the key demands of the opposition.

The headquarters of the Ukrainian Central Election Commission on Lesya Ukrainka Square in Kiev was empty on Saturday. No opposition supporters who had picketed the building after the first and second rounds of the elections gathered there today.
