People are still rallying near the campaign headquarters of Sergei Bagapsh and Raul Khadzhimba, the main rivals at recent presidential elections.
Armed men in military uniforms, around 1,200 reserve officers, are rallying near Mr Khadzhimba's headquarters. "We are waiting for Raul to come and explain everything," they said.
Rallying near Mr Bagapsh's campaign headquarters are people largely in civilian clothes.
Both camps are rather depressed. Many of the rallymen did not believe reports that the rivals intend to work as a team, while some of the rallymen have heard nothing of the plans and are waiting for explanations from their leaders.
Mr Bagapsh's armed supporters are continuing to block the complex of government buildings in Sukhumi.
The date of new presidential elections has not been fixed as of yet, Roin Agrba, the press secretary of Abkhazian incumbent President Vladislav Ardzinba, told RIA Novosti.
"Under the law it is to be fixed by the Central Election Commission. When a new CEC is made up, it will fix the date of new elections that are to be held in the next two months," said Mr Agrba.
This was his comment on media reports saying that the parties to the conflict had agreed to hold the elections on December 26.
Mr Khadzhimba does not know the date either.
"Sergei Bagapsh and I have discussed the possibility of new elections. Under the constitution, they are to take place in the next 2 months. I have heard nothing about December 26," Mr Khadzhimba told RIA Novosti.
