"I am ready for a compromise and the Supreme Rada [parliament] is aware of this, however, it has advanced no proposals," Mr. Kuchma said at the session on economic problems in his residence Koncha-Zaspa near Kiev on Monday.
According to the Ukrainian leader, he cannot dismiss the Central Election Commission because the parliament did not introduce relevant amendments to the law on presidential elections.
Mr. Kuchma said he was ready to sign the amendments to the Ukrainian Constitution and the law on presidential elections needed to rerun the poll in the Supreme Rada's assembly hall.
However, the President will sign these amendments if the parliament votes for the package of relevant documents.
The cabinet of ministers will be changed after the introduction of amendments to the Ukrainian Constitution, Leonid Kuchma noted.
"If parliament votes for the political reform, a new government will be formed on its basis," he added.
