On the contrary, "Russia has proposed a wording on the need to prevent violence during the current developments in Ukraine, prevent intimidation by certain participants in the political processes in that country", Sergei Lavrov said.
"The Russian side spoke of the need to respect sovereignty and territorial integrity, prevent interference in the internal affairs and respect the right of the people of Ukraine to be themselves to resolve their problems on the basis of the constitution and law", he said.
If our partners supported this wording before, it would have been adopted today by consensus at the sitting of the OSCE Foreign Ministerial Council, the Russian foreign minister noted.
Regrettably, attempts were made at the talks to include in the text additional wordings, which would actually mean interference in the negotiating process, now underway in Ukraine between representatives of the parties involved.
"We could not accept the attempts at deciding an outcome of the contacts. I'm convinced that this is against the interests of this process", Sergei Lavrov concluded.
