"The talks in Moscow will focus on the security problems because both countries suffered violent terrorist attacks this year," the source noted.
Proceeding from Russia's interest in the development of cooperation with Latin America, Mr. Rodriguez Zapatero is going to report on the results of the last Iberian-American summit in San Jose (Costa Rica) and on Spain's relations with Latin American countries, RIA Novosti's interlocutor added.
At issue will be the UN reform and prospects of the Iraqi settlement.
Under ex-premier Jose Maria Aznar Madrid and Moscow had different standpoints on the possibility of military solution of the Iraqi problem. When the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party came to power after the March 14 elections, the new government led by Mr. Rodriguez Zapatero decided to withdraw Spanish troops from Iraq.
Spain and Russia boast good dynamic relations, Trinidad Jimenez, secretary of the international affairs bureau of the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party, said in a RIA Novosti interview.
"Russia is a great country and a part of Europe. Relations with Russia are a priority of Spain's foreign policy. Our countries share common positions on such important issues as the Iraqi problem," she said.
Mr. Rodriguez Zapatero's talks in Moscow are expected to focus on economic cooperation, in particular, in the spheres of energy, tourism and transport.
This will be the first visit to Moscow by Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero as Spain's Prime Minister. At first, it was scheduled for December 1, however, it was postponed at Spain's request. On that day the Prime Minister had to attend parliamentary hearings when charges against the foreign minister were considered.
The Chairman of the Spanish government will arrive in Moscow on Thursday night. All official events are scheduled for Friday.
