KIEV, December 10 (RIA Novosti) - Ukrainian presidential candidate Viktor Yushchenko is convinced that he will gain at least 60% of the vote in the December 26 elections. He hopes to congratulate Ukrainians on the New Year as the head of state.

"I am sure to become the winner of the elections," Mr. Yushchenko told journalists in Kiev on Friday.

"We shall make the New Year party on Independence Square and invite you to join us," the opposition candidate said.

He came out for the dialogue between eastern and western Ukraine. "Publicity will be the main factor in the dialogue, which will ease east-west tensions," Viktor Yushchenko stressed calling on journalists, businessmen and clergymen to participate in this dialogue.

In his opinion, separatism is not typical of Ukraine. "There are no natural causes for Ukraine's split according to the west-east principle or for language or religious reasons," the candidate emphasized.

Moreover, he came out for the development of political and economic links with Russia.

Viktor Yushchenko promised to make public medical information about his disease after December 26.

"I do not want to speculate on the topic of my health," he said.

"I have already handed the results of my tests and medical conclusions to the Supreme Rada's commission. But I have to run some more tests," Mr. Yushchenko reported.

He is convinced that he was poisoned.

In his words, a medical examination is underway. It will provide complete information about the poison, which was used.

According to Mr. Yushchenko, on Saturday he will fly to Austria to undergo examination in the clinic, where he already received treatment. He is to spend two days in this clinic.

"In such cases recovery takes many months. I spent 25 days in hospital and got involved in the election campaign after that," the presidential candidate said.

Mr. Yushchenko stressed he was in good physical shape at the moment.
