MOSCOW, December 18 (RIA Novosti) -Russians Maria Petrova and Alexei Tikhonov took second place in the pairs event of the Grand Prix figure skating tournament currently held in Bejing.
In the course of the two-day competition the Russian duet scored 187.32 points and was outperformed only by the Chinese pair Shen Xue and Zhao Hongbo who tallied 206.54 points.
Another Chinese pair Pang Quing and Tong Jian were third with 173.66 points.
Russia's Yulia Obertas and Sergei Slavnov, third after the short program, went a step lower after the optional event and took the fourth place in the tournament's final standings.
