MOSCOW, December 22 (RIA Novosti) - Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Danial Akhmetov does not rule out the involvement of Russian companies in laying a pipeline via Kazakhstan to China.

"We are going to build a pipeline to China and intend the involvement of Russian companies in the project," Mr. Akhmetov told journalists after a meeting with his Russian counterpart Mikhail Fradkov.

Kazakhstan also proposes making use of pipelines passing through its territory to transport oil to China, he said.

In turn, Mikhail Fradkov noted that the matter of transit was considered as part of the package of cooperation in the fuel-energy field.

"No insurmountable problems exist here," said Mr. Fradkov.

His Kazakh analogue said that also in focus was the conclusion of a product-sharing agreement for the Kurmangazy field. "It is in development under the jurisdiction of Kazakhstan. The required documents will be inked very soon," Mr. Akhtemov said.

The two prime ministers also pondered the setting up of a bank at a new level, in which Russia, Kazakhstan and other countries will participate. Work is under way, the bank's authorized capital is in discussion and there is "full understanding" of the necessity of such a bank's existence, Mr. Akhmetov said.

The Russian premier positively assessed the initiative.
