MOSCOW, December 25 (RIA Novosti) - A terrorist attack on local residents was prevented in the Kurchaloi district in eastern Chechnya, the press center of the regional operative headquarters for the counter-terrorist operation in the North Caucasus told RIA Novosti.
According to RIA Novosti's interlocutor, the terrorist attack was prevented as a result of checking the information provided by residents of Tsotsi-Yurt.
"Policemen discovered a handmade explosive device in the mentioned place. Combat engineers of the federal forces eliminated it at once," the representative said.
Moreover, two caches with weapons and ammunition near the settlement of Zakan-Yurt of the Achkhoi-Martan district (Chechnya's south-west) and in a deserted building in the Leninsky district of Grozny.
