An official spokesman for Rosneft said earlier this week that Rosneft had acquired Baikal Finance Group, the winner of the December 19 auction for the sale of Yuganskneftegaz.
Baikal Finance Group purchased 76.79% of Yuganskneftegaz shares.
According to Rosneft's spokesman, the owners of Baikal Finance Group offered to Rosneft to acquire their assets and the company repurchased a 100% stake in Baikal Finance Group from its previous owners, thus becoming the owner of Baikal Finance Group.
Rosneft's purchase of 76.79% of the Yuganskneftegaz stock complied with the company's plans of becoming a balanced national energy company by developing its capacities in all the regions of its operation: the Siberia and the Far East, the north and south of Russia's European part, the company's spokesman said.
