MOSCOW, December 26 (RIA Novosti) - On Sunday, the Russian capital welcomed Ded Moroz, who came from his summer residence in Veliki Ustyug and started the official countdown to year 2005.

Muscovites organized a warm reception to Ded Moroz in the center of Moscow, on Tverskaya Square. "Forces of evil" tried to spoil the reception awaited by Moscow residents for a long time and turn it into "a festival of bitter tears." A flock of ravens stole the key to a magical clock, which keeps track of the eternal time flow, and for several hours became "the keepers of time."

The hosts of the celebration, the good heroes, decided to do everything possible to recover the key to a magical clock and entered the fight against the ravens. The forces of black magic sent the heroes to the future, to Mars, and to the past - to Medieval Rus.

Despite all efforts of evil forces, Moscow Mayor Yuri Luzhkov, who played the role of the Keeper of Moscow Time, defeated the evil raven, forced him to plead forgiveness from children, turned the clock back to normal time and helped Ded Moroz to arrive in the capital.

The Mayor told the children gathered at the square "not to waste their time."

"If you keep wasting your time, you will lose it forever. We must do everything in such a way that time never stops and we manage to accomplish a lot of good and important deeds," the Moscow Mayor emphasized. He wounded up the magical clock that returned to count the eternal passage of history.
