GAP BETWEEN YUSHCHENKO AND YANUKOVICH INCREASING

KIEV, December 27 (RIA Novosti) - Viktor Yushchenko is winning the presidential elections in Ukraine.

The Ukrainian Central Election Commission has counted 99.72% of ballots (28,974,278 votes).

In total, Viktor Yushchenko won 52,07% of the vote (15,089,443 people), while his rival Viktor Yanukovich won 44.13% of the vote (12,786,932 people), the Central Election Commission reported.

2.34% of the vote was cast against all.

100% of ballots were counted in the Volyn, Zhitomir, Kiev, Sumy, Cherkassk and Chernovtsy regions, in Kiev and Sevastopol, the press service of the Ukrainian CEC told RIA Novosti.

According to the press service, Viktor Yushchenko is leading in 17 Ukrainian regions, mainly in western Ukraine and Kiev. Viktor Yanukovich is leading in 10 regions and the Crimea, including Sevastopol.
