KIEV, December 29 (RIA Novosti) - After the official inauguration of Viktor Yushchenko as Ukrainian president, his team intends to review the issues of cooperation with Russia in the framework of the common economic space (CES) and the International Gas Consortium, announced head of Viktor Yushchenko's election headquarters, vice-speaker of the Ukrainian parliament Alexander Zinchenko at a press conference in Kiev.

"We are ready to propose a slightly different model of the approach toward the issue because we consider the scheme proposed in the framework of the consortium rather imperfect," Mr. Zinchenko stated.

He said that Ukraine "does not plan to avoid the discussion on the creation of the common economic space with Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan," the Novosti-Ukraine news agency quoted him as saying.

In addition, Mr. Zinchenko emphasized that Yushchenko's team intended "to improve the comprehensive treaty on friendship and cooperation between the two countries."
