MEMORIAL TRAIN TO GO FROM MOSCOW'S KAZAN STATION

MOSCOW, February 2 (RIA Novosti) - The Train of Remembrance is scheduled to depart from the Kazan railway station in Moscow, on Friday to commemorate the Battle of Stalingrad. According to the Moscow Public Relations Committee, the youth-oriented patriotic Train of Remembrance is "dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War (WWII)" will be held from February 4 to 6. It is organized by the Moscow Public Relations Committee, the Council of Moscow's Children's Public Movement and the Moscow House of Children's Public Organizations.

Over 350 children involved in the event "60 Acts of Kindness Dedicated to the Victory's 60th Anniversary," include Moscow students, members of youth labor associations and 34 WWII veterans who will go to the Hero City of Volgograd to attend the memorial sites of the Battle of Stalingrad.

They will visit Mamayev Hill and the Battle of Stalingrad panorama museum and the headquarters where Field Marshal Friedrich Paulus was captured. The participants will lay flowers at Volgograd monuments, and meet with local veterans.
