MOSCOW, February 8 (RIA Novosti) - KPRF officials believe that in case of a State Duma ballot for a no-confidence vote to the government, as many as 226 deputies might cast their votes in its favor.

"We insist on a ballot on this issue," announced State Duma vice-speaker from the KPRF (Communist) faction Valentin Kuptsov at a press conference on Tuesday.

He informed the journalists that during Tuesday meeting of the Chamber Council, the participants did not discuss the issue because "United Russia holds the majority in the Council."

The State Duma vice-speaker hopes that this procedural issue will be discussed during tomorrow's plenary meeting. "We expect approximately 130-150 votes in favor of a no-confidence vote in case of an open voting," he said.

The Communists also insist on a real-time broadcast of the meeting.

However, chairman of the State Duma Committee on procedural and working issues Oleg Kovalev believes that "the State Duma cannot dictate its opinion on this issue to TV channels, and the TV channels will make their own decision according to public interest."

At the same time, he pointed out that "the parliamentary television will be instructed to cover this particular plenary meeting in detail and show a special TV segment on a coming Sunday."
