MOSCOW, February 8 (RIA Novosti) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has invited the Kamaz team, winners of the Paris-Dakar rally, to Moscow.
The rally took place on December 31-January 16.
"We should invite our racers who won the rally for the fifth time to Moscow," the head of state said at a meeting with Industry and Energy Minister Viktor Khristenko on Tuesday.
"For the sixth time," the minister specified.
In his words, "this would be an important meeting" with people "deserving overall attention."
"Do invite them to Moscow," Vladimir Putin said.
According to Mr. Khristenko, he submitted a proposal to confer state awards on the team.
The KAMAZ-Master team (Naberezhniye Chelny, Kazakhstan), three-time winner of the world off-road rally cup, became a six-time winner of the Dakar super-marathon in the category "Trucks".
