"They form conditions for a full-fledged restoration of the peaceful process and progress towards the just Palestinian-Israeli settlement envisaged by the road map which was worked out by the four international intermediaries and approved by resolution 1515 of the UN Security Council," Mr. Yakovenko said.
According to him, the main result of the summit is the mutual decision to cease violence on the Palestinian and Israeli sides.
Moscow highly assessed the effective and useful role of Egypt and Jordan in the summit preparations, Alexander Yakovenko noted.
In his words, it is necessary to consolidate positive trends in the region, in particular, to resume talks with Syria and Lebanon, in order to achieve overall and lasting peace in the Middle East.
"The Russian side expects the parties to thoroughly observe all decisions made in Sharm el Sheikh. Russia and other international intermediaries are ready to render necessary assistance," Mr. Yakovenko said.
On Tuesday Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon claimed the cessation of all military operation on the West Bank and in the Gaza Strip.
