ASTANA, February 10 (RIA Novosti) - The Kazakh Foreign Ministry has declared undesirable the entry of the State Duma vice-speaker Vladimir Zhirivovski of the Liberal Democratic Party faction into the territory of Kazakhstan.

"The Foreign Ministry of Kazakhstan notifies of the decision taken to declare undesirable the entry of Vladimir Zhirinovski in the territory of our state", reads the communique of the Kazakh Foreign Ministry, circulated on Thursday.

The documents notes that the decision has been taken "with account for the legal assessment" made by the Kazakh Prosecutor General's Office, taking into consideration that one of Zhirinovski's interviews "contains signs of instigating ethnic enmity and strife between the peoples of Russia and Kazakhstan, as well as humiliating the national honor and dignity of Kazakh nationals".

Earlier, Kazakhstan's Prosecutor General Rashid Tusupbekov in a letter asked his Russian colleague to consider calling Zhirinovski to account as set in Russian legislation.

In turn, the ambassador of Kazakhstan to the Russian Federation Krymbek Kusherbaev presented to the Russian first deputy foreign minister, Valeri Loschinin, the memorandum of the Kazakh Foreign Ministry regarding Zhirinovski's utterances on the Russian-Kazakh border.

As a reaction to the Kazakh memorandum, Mr. Loschinin noted that the official position of Russia on this question consists in the very fact of conclusion of the Kazakh-Russian Treaty of the State Border, which is the evidence of strategic partnership and invariably friendly relations between Kazakhstan and Russia. The Russian diplomat stressed that the official position of the leadership of the Russian Federation has nothing to do common with the "extravagant utterances" of the liberal-democratic leader.

Zhirivovski himself has invited Kazakhstan not to take offence at his words on the delimitation of the Russian-Kazakh border.

"Don't take offence at me - the stateof Kazakhstan never existed before. This is written in every textbook. The Soviet regime artificially fixed the border," Zhirinovski has told RIA Novosti.

He has said that he did not attempt fomenting ethnic strife and only voiced his own opinion on the border, which he sticks to.

"They think I am wrong. I think they are wrong. That's where we beg to differ. Don't take offence", Zhirinovski has said.
