MOSCOW, February 11 (RIA Novosti) - The elections in Iraq will boost relations with Russia, said Iraqi ambassador to Russia Abdul Karim Hashim Mostafa.
According to him, Russian-Iraqi economic cooperation has lasted for over 50 years. In spite of instability in Iraq, many Russian companies have worked and keep working in this country, the ambassador stressed.
"The Iraqi leadership highly values Russia's position," the ambassador said at the press conference on the forthcoming Expo-Russia exhibition in Jordan.
It will be held in Amman, Jordanian capital, on March 1-3, 2005 under the patronage of King Abdullah II of Jordan.
According to the organizers, the purpose of the exhibition is to realize the exporting potential and attract new investments in the Russian economy, as well as to restore Russian-Iraqi trade turnover and establish business contacts in the new conditions.
