CHAIRMEN OF RUSSIAN AND IRANIAN CHAMBERS OF COMMERCE PLAN TO CREATE RUSSIAN-IRANIAN BUSINESS COUNCIL

TEHRAN, February 13 (RIA Novosti) - On Sunday, Chairman of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Yevgeny Primakov, who arrived in Iran yesterday, will participate in a round of talks with high-ranking Iranian officials and will sign a series of documents on cooperation.

Officials from the Russian Trade Mission in Iran told RIA Novosti that Mr. Primakov and his Iranian counterpart Ali Khamushi would sign an agreement on cooperation between respective chambers of commerce in the sphere of information exchange and initial an agreement on creation of the Russian-Iranian Business Council.

Mr. Primakov is scheduled to meet with Adviser to the supreme leader of Iran on foreign policy issues Ali Akbar Velayati, Commerce Minister Mohammad Shariatmadari, Minister of Mines and Metals Eshaq Jahangiri, Deputy Foreign Minister Mehdi Safari and other officials.

Members of the Russian delegation of businessmen and CEOs of large companies led by Mr. Primakov will discuss with Iranian colleagues future areas of cooperation and sign the relevant agreements.

A source at the Iranian Foreign Ministry told RIA Novosti, "considering the fact that Mr. Primakov is highly regarded by Iranian authorities as prominent politician, it is possible that the sides will touch upon current political and global issues of mutual concern."
