MOSCOW, February 15 (RIA Novosti) - The State Duma committee for CIS and compatriots affairs is considering various measures to be taken by the Russian Federation if Chisinau does not lift economic and political blockade of Transdniestria, a source in the committee said on Tuesday.

According to the source, a wide range of economic sanctions can be imposed on Moldova - from boycotting the key items of Moldova's food exports, such as wine and tobacco, to tough restrictions on labor migration from Moldova.

Many MPs believe that if Chisinau is pursuing anti-Russian policy western countries should take care of Moldovan exports and labor migrants, the source emphasized.

In his words, the committee is considering these measures "in compliance with the protocol instructions of the State Duma session of February 11, 2005".
