"There is no 'orange revolution' and no prerequisites for it of a revolution of any other color," Mr. Aitmatov said at the meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization foreign ministers in Astana. The situation in Kyrgyzstan is "normal, stable and calm."
"Preparations for the parliamentary elections are underway. It is natural that political temperature in society rises during such an important event as parliamentary elections," the minister said.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov noted at the meeting of foreign ministers, referring to the observers, that the election campaigns in Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan are conducted within the limits of legislation.
Mr. Lavrov stressed that Russia is deeply interested in "stability and social and economic wellbeing of Central Asian countries, and their independent advance to social and economic transformations."
The Kyrgyz parliamentary elections are planned for February 27.
