FILM ABOUT RUSSIA DEDICATED TO VICTORY DAY TO BE SHOWN IN ARGENTINA

BUENOS AIRES, February 26 (RIA Novosti's Yuri Nikolayev) - "A joint project of the Russian embassy and one of the leading Argentine TV channels will acquaint Argentines and Latin Americans with Russia's history and modern life," Russian ambassador to Argentina Yuri Korchagin said at the presentation of the film at the Russian embassy in Buenos Aires on Friday.

According to him, the project "Russia - New Horizons" consists of nine series dealing with Russian history, culture, Orthodoxy and contemporary Russia. Two series are dedicated to Russian-Argentine trade and economic relations.

The project also deals with the life of Russians who emigrated to Argentina at different times and their assistance to the Red Army during World War II.

The final part of the project is a documentary about the Great Patriotic War.

Heads of Russian institutions in Argentina and Archbishop of Argentina and South America Platon will appear before TV viewers.

The first series will be shown on March 3 on the Argentine national TV channel and will satellite broadcasted across South America.

All series will be shown at prime-time on Wednesdays.
