TEHRAN, February 27 (RIA Novosti, Nikolai Terekhov) - Russia and Iran have signed a package on nuclear fuel supply terms and depleted fuel return from the Bushehr nuclear power plant Unit One.
Signing the documents were Alexander Rumyantsev, Russia's Federal Nuclear Energy Agency chief, and Gholamreza Aqazadeh, Iran's Atomic Energy Organization head.
The agreements will unblock fuel supplies to the Bushehr Unit One, now under construction by Russian experts and workers, so as to open the way to final touches on the project, said Mr. Rumyantsev.
"Today, Iran's Vice-President and Atomic Energy Organization head, and I signed an agreement on depleted nuclear fuel return, and a confidential protocol on fuel supplies to the project under construction.
"The plant is scheduled to be commissioned in a year. An initial fuel batch has been made, and is stored in Novosibirsk," added the Russian official.
