RUSSIAN SECURITY COUNCIL SECRETARY TO VISIT UKRAINE

KIEV, March 2 (RIA Novosti) - Russian Security Council Secretary Igor Ivanov is expected to pay a routine visit to Ukraine on Friday, March 4 at an invitation from his Ukrainian counterpart Pyotr Poroshenko.

During the visit the Ukrainian side hopes to discuss with Mr. Ivanov key bilateral issues in the military-industrial and military-technical spheres, the Ukrainian Council for National Security and Defense told the Novosti-Ukraine agency on Wednesday.

Speaking about Mr. Ivanov's forthcoming visit, Mr. Poroshenko said, "The development of Russian-Ukrainian cooperation, in particular, in the military-industrial and military-technical spheres, is an integral part of qualitatively new relations between our countries."

The Ukrainian Council for National Security and Defense expects Igor Ivanov's visit to promote establishment of new confidential relations between the two countries in the international security sphere.
