PISA (ITALY), March 3 (RIA Novosti) - Russian Defense Minister Sergei Ivanov has arrived in Italy for talks on military cooperation with his Italian analog Antonio Martino.
The plane landed in Pisa, from where Mr. Ivanov will go to Florence for the scheduled meetings.
Before the visit, he told journalists that the talks would pivot on the expansion of military-technical cooperation. Mr. Ivanov cited the Russian-Italian aircraft Yak-130 as a promising project.
"There are projects on promoting this product to the markets of third countries on the product-sharing basis", he said. Mr. Ivanov also spoke of the Italians' interest in using Russian launch vehicles for orbiting the Italian communication satellite.
"This question will also be brought up at the talks", the Russian defense minister said.
