"To offer a due rebuff to international terrorism, we shall join hands with followers of the other established religions, and do our bit to preserve peace and accord in Russian society.
"Russia is our native land. We have no other mother country. Our ancestors preserved it for us, and bequeathed us to maintain peace and accord," he stressed.
"Muslims have never betrayed their Motherland," the Mufti went on as he referred to valiant Muslim soldiers in World War II and the Napoleonic War of 1812.
As nazis were routed in the Battle of Moscow, late in 1941, "they recurred to a satanic subterfuge to create Muslim legions. That was a losing attempt," said the Mufti.
Heroism and self-sacrifice "rest on faith and morals. That is their only basis," he emphasized.
"To preserve that basis, a majority of religious believers insist nowadays on fundamentals of established religions taught at school. Otherwise, we shall be unable to buttress faith and ethics."
Mufti Tajuddin called the world "to become aware of unity of the human race" in the face of global terror danger.
