"We are getting ready for the elections thoroughly," Mr. Zyuganov told journalists during the break in the plenum of the KPRF Central Committee. Only serious political structures with serious programs will achieve success in the elections, he noted.
However, he did not tell a RIA Novosti correspondent if he was going to run for presidency in 2008 or not.
The KPRF leader is negative about statements of some politicians on their readiness to run for presidency. "50% of our politicians believe they can be presidents and all politicians think they can be deputies. This illness is hard to cure," Gennady Zyuganov said.
He condemned the idea of his former colleague Gennady Semigin to form a shadow people's cabinet.
This cabinet will serve "our Russian Yushchenko" (Mikhail Kasyanov), Mr. Zyuganov noted.
