MOSCOW HOSTS ALL-RUSSIA ENERGY FORUM

MOSCOW, March 14 (RIA Novosti) - The 3rd all-Russia energy forum "Russia's Fuel and Energy Complex in the 21st Century" will be held in Moscow from March 21 to 25, chairman of the Federation Council commission for natural monopolies Mikhail Odintsov said at a press conference on Monday.

"This forum is a major event in Russia's fuel and energy sphere," he emphasized.

According to the senator, the forum will focus on the integration of the Russian fuel and energy complex into the world energy space, structure reforms and creation of a favorable investment climate.

The forum will consider key issues of the development of Russia's fuel and energy complex and the world energy sphere - the formation of a favorable investment climate, legislative provision of effective and rational use of natural resources, reforms of natural monopolies, energy diplomacy and international cooperation, tariff regulation, exporting potential of Russia's oil sphere and development of pipeline systems, the world experience and Russian prospects of energy supplies, Mr. Odintsov said.

"Moreover, we believe that the 3rd energy forum can sum up the results of the implementation of the state energy strategy throughout the year," he noted. "This document outlines the bases of long-term planning in the fuel and energy sphere," he added.

Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov, Federation Council Speaker Sergei Mironov, State Duma Speaker Boris Gryzlov, representatives of the Industry and Energy Ministry, the Economic Development and Trade Ministry, the Ministry of Natural Resources, the Federation Council, the State Duma, the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Federal Tariff Service, the Union of Russia's Oil and Gas Manufacturers and the Federal Energy Agency are expected to attend the forum.
