MOSCOW, March 14 (RIA Novosti) - The CeBIT exhibition in Hannover has gathered over 70 IT companies from Russia, or four times more than a year ago. Most of them are software producers - world-known ABBYY, Kasperski Laboratory, PROMPT, as well as collective stands of software associations, the daily Vremya Novostei reports.

Russian speech is heard everywhere from newsmen, participants and visitors. Russia as a state is not represented as clearly as Russian IT business, but still it is.

In the pavilion # 5 a big stand RUSSLAND, Information Technologies from Russia, is fixed. It represents eight Russian colleges and universities. The state arranges and pays for their CeBIT participation. The projects are many, one of them being work of the republican multimedia center jointly with the Tretyakov Gallery (Grand Prix of the Russian multimedia contest). Alongside looking at the large body of information about the gallery (history and art collection), the user can make an inspection of it, look at every canvas at different angles and use the digital "magnifying glass".

Governmental delegations from over 50 countries have arrived in Hannover. The number of CeBIT participants is over 6,500, representing 183 countries. The total of visitors is expected to be over 600,000, 112,000 of them foreigners. 9,000 journalists from 65 countries are accredited. The CeBIT'2005 exhibition floorspace exceeds 320,000 square meters. The stands are grouped in different categories - business processes, communications, digital equipment and systems, banking technologies and finance, Park of the Future and Public Sector Park - decisions for business and the government.
