MOSCOW, March 14 (RIA Novosti) - A group of psychologists from North Ossetia, providing help to victims of the Beslan terrorist act on September 1-3 last year, have undergone in Israel a special course of training Emergencies Psychology. Vice-president of the Russian Psychologists' Society Alexander Asmolov said this at the press conference in Moscow on Monday.

"Another group of 8 to 10 will be trained later on. They will be taught by instructors who know what a psychologist should do in hot spots", Mr. Asmolov said.

A telephone hot line will be set up for psychologists in Beslan to get consultations from Israeli psychologists specializing on work with victims of terrorist acts, he said.

Mr. Asmolov said that the project has been prepared by the government of the autonomous republic North Ossetia/Alania, Russian Jewish Congress and the non-commercial organization Handicraft Society.

In his opinion, there are only a few psychologists in Russia specializing in such work. He thinks it necessary to set up the Emergencies Psychology Service in Russia to teach, not only psychologists, but negotiators in the case of acts of terrorism, too.

In turn, North Ossetian representative in the upper chamber of Russian parliament Erik Butulov said that North Ossetia is badly in need of psychologists to help Beslan victims.

"Psychological rehabilitation of victims is now the key problem of the republican authorities. We hope that North Ossetia will have a system of permanent psychological help to Beslan victims", Mr. Butulov said.

Asked when such rehabilitation work may end, Mr. Asmolov said that a forecast can only be provided after inspecting all the victims.

"Framework for rehabilitation can hardly be fixed before we carry out individual diagnostics", he added.
