LUKOIL STAFFERS WERE PASSENGERS OF CRASHED AN-24 PLANE

MOSCOW, March 16 (RIA Novosti) - Staffers of a LUKOIL subsidiary were passengers of the An-24 aircraft which crashed in the Nenets autonomous area, LUKOIL press secretary Dmitry Dolgov told RIA Novosti.

"It was a shift team of our subsidiary," Mr. Dolgov said.

There were some 50 people on board the An-24. On Wednesday afternoon the plane disappeared from radars near the village of Varandei. It fell on the left wing and caught fire during landing.

According to the Russian Emergencies Ministry's main department for the Nenets autonomous area, the plane burned down.
