He said this at a conference Islam against Terrorism in Moscow.
Zyazikov noted that after the collapse of the USSR "an ideological vacuum appeared." That's why, in his opinion, it is necessary to create a working body which would "coordinate work on society consolidation."
He stressed that Russia was not only a great Eurasian power, but was also "a country with good religious traditions and a thousand-year history."
Zyazikov emphasized that Ingushetia was the only member of the Russian Federation where Russians returned to.
"We are the only subject of the Russian Federation where Russians return, where there is a special program on their return and where financial funds from the republic's budget are allocated for these purposes," said Zyazikov. He recalled that only for 2004, more than 400 Russian-speaking people who had previously left the republic returned to Ingushetia.
"They not only return; we accommodate them, provide them with housing, build Orthodox churches," added the Ingush president.
He recalled that forced migrants from Chechnya resided in Ingushetia. "Two years ago there were more than 200,000 refugees from Chechnya in our republic, which exceeded the entire population of the republic. This process continues, and they [forced migrants] come to us on a voluntary basis. We rendered and will render assistance to them," Zyazikov said.
"We have forgotten that Russia's strength is in its multiethnic structure," stressed the Ingush president.
