"He has not been indicted yet," the source reported.
Another source close to investigation told RIA Novosti that the suspect denied his involvement in the assassination attempt. A team of investigators continues to collect material evidence, and works on several leads.
"The investigators have not singled out any lead as primary. They are still considering such leads as a personal feud, professional activities, etc," the source revealed.
He reminded that a search warrant for another possible suspect in the case had been issued. The name of the second suspect has not been revealed.
Chubais' motorcade was ambushed on Thursday morning when it was traveling from Chubais' country house in Zhavoronki (Odintsovo district of the Moscow region) to Minskoye Shosse. Head of RAO UES was not harmed.
Former Armed Forces General Staff Colonel Vladimir Kvachkov has been detained as a suspect in assassination attempt. According to the defense ministry press service, Colonel Kvachkov retired from the Armed Forces back in the 1980s and worked for a certain time as civil consultant at the General Staff. He later left his job and became a full pensioner.
