BISHKEK, March 21 (RIA Novosti's Yulia Orlova) - Protesters have seized the airport of Osh in Kyrgyzstan's south attempting to prevent policemen from other regions from coming to help Osh law enforcers. According to eye-witnesses, the protesters blocked the airport's building but do not take any active moves yet.
Yesterday protesters heaped up a runway in Jalal Abad with stones and burning tires.
Only air traffic links Kyrgyzstan's southern regions with the capital as the strategic highway Bishkek-Osh has been temporary closed for high avalanche risks.
However, the protesters failed to seize the Osh regional TV channel. According to eye-witnesses, the head of the channel appeared before the crowd himself.
He said that television equipment belonged to people and if incompetent persons seized it, nobody would benefit by this.
He promised the protesters to record their demands, which would go on the air on Monday night.
The protesters demanded to show the truth about the events in Osh and Kyrgyzstan's south on the whole.
