Ivanov said that the situation remains complicated and could not guess how much time would be needed to normalize it.
"No one can answer this question now," he said.
According to Ivanov, the ground for dialog is shaky and in order to begin talks, the parties must have clearly formulated positions, currently not evident. The necessary conditions for negotiations are not in place, he said.
"Unfortunately, I have to state that no end of the period of instability is in sight. Simple people just want to work and live in peace. That is why I am hoping on the sober sense of simple people, not their leaders," Yury Ivanov said.
Ivanov said that there are no grounds to fear for the life of Russians and Russian-speaking citizens in the country.
"I can say with full responsibility that our institutions, including the Consulate General, are fully working as usual".
