This request was voiced at the third session of the joint technical committee of Lukoil and the Iraqi Oil Ministry for coordination of work and cooperation in the oil sector, a press release by Lukoil Overseas Holding (operator of Lukoil's overseas projects) reads.
The committee works within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation, which was signed on March 10, 2004 by Lukoil and the Ministry of oil in Baghdad.
The parties of the session considered a number of issues concerning cooperation in the oil and gas sector.
According to the memorandum, the total of 120 Iraqi workers will undergo probation at the facilities of Lukoil-West Sibera in 2005.
Lukoil will also arrange training courses for 100 Iraqi students.
The parties have agreed on holding a regular session of the technical committee in July 2005.
The committee's first session took place on June 22, 2004.
