MOSCOW, March 24 (RIA Novosti) - Kazakhstan's foreign ministry has expressed concern over recent developments in Kyrgyzstan and over the condition of its compatriots there, says the Kazakh embassy in Moscow with reference to the statement by Kazakh Foreign Minister Kasymzhomart Tokaev.
"Firstly, that country is our traditional good neighbor we are sympathetic with. Secondly, the continued confrontation can aggravate the economic situation. Thirdly, we worry over the destiny of our compatriots in Kyrgyzstan," said Tokaev.
"We hope that the Kyrgyz people known for their traditions of wisdom and prudence will be able to settle the conflict in accordance with the constitution and law of their country. Kazakhstan is confirming its willingness to render, if need be, any assistance to Kyrgyzstan," said the Kazakh foreign minister.
