FIRE IN MOSCOW COVERS OVER 10,000 SQUARE METERS ALREADY

MOSCOW, March 26 (RIA Novosti) - The fire at the Vernisazh art market in Moscow already covers over 10,000 square meters, the Moscow firefighting service told RIA Novosti.

"At the moment the whole wooden building of the market whose total area is 10,000 square meters is on fire. Rescuers of the Russian Emergencies Ministry have come to help firefighters," RIA Novosti interlocutor said.

According to him, firefighters found the bodies of two victims.

The fire was given the 5th maximum degree of complexity. Major General Viktor Klimkin, Moscow's chief fire inspector, has arrived at the site of the accident.

The fire began at 13.30 Moscow time. At the moment the fire belch is over 10 meters high.

Twenty teams are trying to extinguish the fire. The reasons of the fire are still unknown.

This is the first fire in Moscow in 2005, which was given the 5th maximum degree of complexity.
