FIRE IN MOSCOW EXTINGUISHED

MOSCOW, March 26 (RIA Novosti) - The fire at Moscow's Vernisazh exhibition center, which was raging for three hours, has been finally extinguished, a spokesman for the Moscow firefighting service told RIA Novosti.

The fire covered over 10,000 square meters. Firefighters found the bodies of two victims. Two more people were hospitalized with burns and injuries.

This is the first fire in Moscow in 2005, which was given the 5th maximum degree of complexity, the spokesman said.

The fire began at 13.30 Moscow time at a wooden building on Izmailovskoye highway. The fire quickly spread on neighboring buildings. The fire belch was over 10 meters high.

Over 20 firefighting teams, rescuers of the Russian Emergencies Ministry and a helicopter were involved in the fire extinguishing.

The reasons of the fire are still unknown. Arson is not ruled out.
